Increased footprint allows for maximum traction and minimal ground pressure of around 2.8 psi though, unlike a traditional track machine, the 4 individual tracks follow the contours of the ground. This allows it to work in uneven conditions aided by the ACTIO oscillating chassis providing 15 degrees of rotation in the chassis behind the front axles in either direction. With its overhanging engine the weight distribution over the axles when fitted with an implement on the linkage is roughly 50/50 giving the best possible traction over all four tracks and balancing the machine perfectly for increased stability when working on slopes. With the addition of the articulated steering the Mach 4 is highly manoeuvrable and minimises surface damage that is normally associated with track machines.
